Animal Rescue

Adding a Video to a Page

In addition to any videos that you create, it would also be helpful to include video from outside sources. This assignment will give you practice in finding an appropriate video and uploading it to your site.

Part 1: Find a Video

Visit youtube.comOpens in new window, and search for a good-quality video about choosing or caring for a newly adopted cat or dog. You might try search terms such as “choosing shelter pet,” “training shelter dog,” or “caring for your new rescue cat.”

Part 2: Embed a Video

Follow the instructions in Chapter 3, and embed the video you found in the Pets to Go Animal Rescue page. Be sure to write a brief introduction explaining why you’ve included the video, what it’s about, and who produced it.

Some of our Pets to Go pages still have no text content. So go ahead and add content to one of the child pages under the Services section:

  • Spay-Neuter Clinic
  • Animal Rescue

You probably aren’t an expert on either of these topics. So how do you know what to write? Type the topic spay-neuter clinic or animal rescue into Google. Then find similar articles on other websites.

Find three or four sources to work from, and be sure to paraphrase—put the information into your own words rather than cutting and pasting from another site. Nobody can copyright facts, so it’s fine to gather facts from someone else’s writing.
